Rex von Rikert is a very handsome German Shepherd. Sir Rex is a special resident, one that is an amazing work in progress! He is learning how to socialize with other dogs; he isn’t sure what they want from him, so he is working on his self-esteem issues. Rex is like one of those people who have no idea how beautiful they are. He is scared in the shelter and relaxes only when he is outside, although walking on leash is another learning opportunity for him. He is a strong boy and has very decided ideas about where to go, but it is our experience that Rex does not do this to exert dominance, but simply because he is new to a leash.  When he is corrected, he does his very best to remedy his mistakes. Rex needs lots of TLC and calm, consistent training to become a truly magnificent hound. An experienced Shepherd owner who can recognize his silent plea for safety and love is what Rex needs now.
